I saw at the Knife Art site, mention of textured Carbon Fiber.
Now I have an old carbon fiber 21 and it is not textured, not polished, but I could say a matte finish.
Is this "textured" a new finish?

Not at all :)

Tried to look at KnifeArt site, to figure what you are talking about, but couldn't find anything. Maybe you could post a link to the particular description you are refering too?

I have both large and small Seb 21's from KA with CF slabs.

They are both the newest design (CF laid down at a 45-degree angle...), and have nothing more than a very nice, smooth, matte finish throughout.
Extremely pleasing to look at and to touch - very holographic and LIGHT weight <-- a BIG deal for my needs...

I will concede that the smooth CF slab does not offer as much grip as the titanium side, if that much would bother you for 'real world' use.

I saw KA's statement of 'textured carbon fiber scales' on their site . . .

My new Small Seb 21 Insingo is VERY fresh - - - - BOD is May 31, 2017.
It is definitely NOT textured.

I think that is a very poor descriptive word, as this CF has always been a more 'Matte' finish, and very subtle at that.
To me, "Textured" would insinuate a surface has been deliberately roughed-up, scalloped or altered in some way to improve grip, which their CF slabs certainly do not do.

Looks to me like they used the word textured in place of the proper adjective: patterned?

Yeah, that's probably a more accurate description.

... and KA's web pictures still show the old CF pattern/style anyway, that no longer applies to current production...
