i've been "looking" at carbon fiber handles on knives before. especially the Ghost. that looks great. i was wondering if any of ya'll had any thoughts of carbon fiber vs. g-10. any info would be great. thanks a bunch.

I personally like carbon fiber on a dressier folder; I don't know if I'd take it out in the field or not. Honestly, I'd take linen or canvas micarta over both, but for my purposes I guess g-10 does it.

I'd like to get some feedback on carbon fiber handles too. I have only one knife with carbon fiber handle: Gigand Spectrum. And I don't like the touch of carbon fiber on that one. Maybe it is wear resistant but it just feels like some sort of plastic. And the fiber on the edges looks like it would start to "peel".

Maybe it's just that one knife, but so far I am not very impressed with carbon fiber.

I guess I could see it on a dressier folder. But still I'd prefer the feel of G10 over carbon fiber.

Both CF and G-10 are tough materials. G-10 maybe be considered the tougher of the two. CF is most certainly the prettier! The only way it would "peel" is if it was a thin laminate.

carbon fiber is definately my choice over G10 ANY day...Elishewitz's cf looks great. The "cf" on the Spectrum seems "fake" to me...it does NOT compare to the cf that you will find on a real knife.
