Carbon Fiber

Does anyone know what the idfference in weight between materiels like carbon fiber, Micarta, G-10, and Zytel are? I would like to know densities, or specifics, but commets are allways great. I know that these individual materiels are chosen for more than just their low weight i.e. looks, feel, but I just want to know the differences.

Sorry, no specifics, but I'm pretty sure (lightest to heaviest) it would be carbon fiber, zytel, G10, and then micarta. I think the zytel, G10, and micarta are pretty close in weight.

Well, I think G10 is stronger, so less of it will be as strong as a larger amount of zytel.

Personally, I just like the look and feel of G10 better than zytel.

About strength in relation to weight I would order them this way:
CF
G-10
Micarta
Zytel
The Zytel displays strength properties in basically different way because it is thermoplastic.

Edited to add – FRN and Zytel basically is the same kind of thermoplastic.
