does carbon fiber work like kydex? ive seen pistol holsters in it and they look great

There was some carbon fibre patterened kydex on the market a few years ago, might still be available.

The real carbon fibre is made up just like fibreglass, resin and all.

I'd bet everything that it wasn't carbon fiber, but rather carbon fiber patterned Concealex. You can buy it a lot of places, works just like Kydex. Just has a "carbon fiber" pattern on the surface.

Where I work, we shape carbonfiber by heating it in an oven at app. 200centigrades.
Perhaps that is how the holsters were made.
