So I was first introduced to these wonders at Blade show 2 years ago. I've been dying to get more ever since I got my first one. They are a fabulous machete and these come with the awesome leather sheath! Wow ee! I was surfing a certain mountain based knife sight and saw that they got them up. Good stuff! These are some awesome machetes that really kick the crud out of a normal ontario. Full tang with an indestructible polypro handle. It is nice to have a screaming sharp machete available in the US again.

yeah I do too. I'll find out what the status is on those.

Thanks, Joe, I would appreciate it. I notice that the El Salvador Machete is very reasonably priced, and that price includes a sheath. If the bolos are as reasonably priced, I'll snap one up in a heartbeat!

Dammit, I just ordered from them yesterday and I didn't notice the carbon ones were up. I got an 18in jungle sabre machete from condor because it looks very light and fast and I have a lot of thorny brush to take up. I also got the 18in outback machete and the 10in Inca knife. I love condor's line for SOLID beaters that are cheap and perform great. Oh yeah, also picked up half a dozen Tram's as well, couldn't help it.

You will LOVE the outback machete. The bolo should in theory, be a better price because it does not come with a sheath.

I have a six condor machetes and I've bought over ten but I always end up giving them to friends who are so impressed with them compared to their ontario's. I ordered the outback because none of the condor's I have, like pig stickers and el-salvadors, are heavy enough for good chopping. I love thin machetes for thier penetration in green wood and the outback is nice and thin but has a bit more mass than the ones I have.
Joe, what do you think about the jungle sabre? is it as fast in the hand as it looks? I can't really tell because there is no taper to the blade and its the same width all the way down. My concern is that it will feel unbalanced.

Thanks, Joe. If the bolo is even less, then that's great. I can live without a sheath for a bit. The bolo looks like a great chopper.

This is the one I have been trying to resist......has been working so far, but may not last much longer!!

That is very reasonably priced; I am going to have to pick one up. Not that I really need one right now...but I want one.... :)

Ok, I'll bite. What makes them so good? I've been pretty happy with my Tram and Ontario, but always willing to try something new, especially at this price point.

whats thickness on the blade? if its as thin as the stainless versions then ill pass. I need thicker steel for the type of vegetation i got here.

I've been wanting to get a good (yet cheap) machete. This one might be it. Thanks for sharing!

I'm pretty sure they are thicker than your version of the el salvador machete. About as thick as an ontario (normal version)

No modding to make them cut, plus a quality sheath. I ran over my handle six times in the cherokee and nada.

Geez...what kind of vegetation do you have? I'm able to take out small (4-5" diameter) trees with mine no problem! Are you using proper technique? If you needed a better chopper I might recommend the beavertail machete? Or perhaps an axe.

The technique I use is a "throw" from the shoulder. The machete should rest in the crotch of the hand, being held by the first two fingers. Then, with a rapid and nearly straight-forward extension (almost a smooth forward "punch" if you will) "squeeze" the grip with the bottom two fingers to "throw" the sweet spot at the target. You can generate a TON of force this way with little effort.

Not sure if this is what you're already doing or not, but it kicks the crap out of a regular arm-extended swing like you would with a hatchet or hammer. :)

Don't mean to bring this back from the dead, but are these sold through any other vendor? Seems like smkw is out.
