does anybody sell carbon steel folders anymore? I look all over the web, and find only stainless.

Unless you want a trad slip joint, then no.

The closest you will get is TOPS CQT or other tool steel knives.

Not really. Once stainless gained in popularity, people got tired of rust in the pivot, it really traps moisture in that spot.

opinel folders come in carbon steel. as temper mentioned, you can find quite a few in tool steel. benchmade has a few, IIRC.

I second what The Last Confederate posted and just received my Mountain Man carbon blade with the crimson handle...grab one while you can!

On the other hand, unless you care for it everyday it may not be the best choice for cutting oranges and tomatoes.

I never sliced an orange or a tomato with one, but I learned early in life the that if you get one wet (even with fresh water) and forget to dry it, it will rust.
I've just never been a big fan of stainless blades. I remember the first big stainless folder I ever got. It was razor sharp, but once it got dull it stayed dull. it could have just been poor steel, but it soured me on them on stainless. Maybe I just need to sharpen my sharpening skills.

ive got a benchmade afck in m2 hs steel. and yes the rust was iritating at times but it was plenty tough.

Benchmade stopped production of their M2 line of high carbon tool steel knives recently. Some models may still be available at various retailers, or on the "bay."

The M2 blades are highly sought after by Benchmade afficianados, so if you're interested, get 'em while you can.

Ranger, why carbon steel?
Have you tried a second stainless folder?

I have mostly stainless folders. I had a real nice buck 3 1/3 lockblade ( $20 at Kmart) .

Queen has their Mountain Man lockback in D2, Cold Steel had some lockbacks in Carbon V, I believe that one of Cases mid folding hunters had CV steel.
