Anyone got any links for custom folders containing 1095, 01, or 5160 carbon steel. Kinda interested in gettin one of those with that level of steel. Thanks.

Cold Steel makes a line of "Carbon V" traditionally styled slip joints. Not custom of course. Anybody ever seen one?

Opinels, although some are now made with stainless so you have to be careful. Also their knives run on the soft side.

Used to have a French made knike which I believe carried the name Openel. It was a real plain jane knife with a wooden handle and a barrel type locking device. They came in several different sizes and were strictly users. Took an edge beautifully and held their edge. Any ideas?

The CS knives are very nice, both stockmans and trappers. Good walk and talk, especially for the price. They also made lockbacks out of Carbon V called trailguides, one of my favorite folders. Well designed with a flat grind. Excellent cutters.

This question/thread is about CUSTOM folders. I think people have missed this.

This should be moved to the Custom section of the General Discussion forum. I can recommend one maker who I have bought one camp knife from, and have commissioned a huge camp knife from, a very good work horse in 5160. He is Scott Gossman, a member here, who goes by Razorback Knives. Here is his website, you can also pm him here.

Razorback - Knives do a search for his profile.

He also uses O1, A2 and D2, at least by the last time I talked to him.

Sorry, just saw that you are interested in folders, Scott only does fixed, but who knows? (Hint, hint Scott :).

doesn't bob dozier do some?

I know wayne Goddard does, but what kind of folder?

I can't remember what kind of Carbon, But John Greco makes Great folders in CS.

Thankls ill look through those. Saw some interesting ones but I'd kinda like one with a more modern look to it like carbon fiber handle or micarta.
