Having enjoyed Paul Long's work throughout the forums, but never in person, I contacted him to sheath a couple of Don Hanson blades. It was a great experience and here are the results:

I have had Don's 9.5-inch 1086M coffin bowie for some time and it needed some leather. Paul sent some pictures of previous work, and this sash sheath fit the bill.

This 6.5-inch W2 hunter/fighter was one of Don's five MS test knives in Atlanta and needed some good coverage.

Paul was very professional and the turn-around time very quick.

Paul Long is quick, has great designs, makes a great sheath, has reasonable prices and can make an excellent fit from a pattern so you don't have to send the knife.

What more could you possibly ask for from a sheathmaker?:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Very nice work - I like the customized stamp on the back of the sheath for the MS test knife. Very cool. Does he have a web site?

Paul does not have a web site. He has numerous images of his work he can e-mail. I have his phone number at home, but I'll bet somebody can post it for us. Paul was very pleasant to work with.

I first got to handle Paul's leather in Atlanta... It's even better than any pics I've seen of it. Easily some of the most crisp, clean, and elegant leather sheaths out there.

I'll be sending him something (if I ever get enough time to finish one! LOL) :)

Those knives ain't too shabby either! ;)

I really enjoyed the chance to have these two fine knives by Don in the shop for a while. They are incredible. I have had the good fortune to make sheaths for some of the top ABS makers lately, the latest being Harvey Dean's Kennesaw D Guard Bowie and the El Diablo fighter that were described in the AKI thread. The Gamblers Set by Jerry Fisk for Kevin, and a carved handle bowie by J. R. Cook to name a few.

As Always thanks for the kind words.
