My collection consist of Benchmades, Spydercos, Bokers, and other modern locking and fixed bladed knives. I have an ALOX Pioneer SAK and love having a non-locking bladed pocket knife. I want to get a carbon steel bladed sodbuster, and have narrowed it down. I would like to get a Case large Sodbuster with CV steel, but can't find them anywhere. I'd get a stainless one, but hear that Case's stainless is a poor steel. I like the Queen Country Cousin (D2 for $25!), but hear that the fit and finish is lacking. I am also interested in the Kissing Crane Black Angus, I'll probally get one of these anyway. So, can I find a Large Case Sodbuster in CV anywhere? Are the Queen Sodbusters of decent quaility? Or should I look into a different carbon steel sodbuster all together?

I have sodbusters from boker, kissing crane and case, and in my opinion the case is the best with the boker a close second, but for the $ the kc is still a great knife just a little to stiff a spring for me.

Last I checked Smokey Mountain Knife Works carried cv Case sodbusters, and if not check Bud K.:)

Based on the ones that I own I would rank Boker Kissing Crane and then Case. The best one I have has no name and I don't know much about it, other than it was cheap.

I get my Sodbusters with CV at Bass Pro usually.

Sodbuster Jr with CV is my favorite carry knife of all my 100's of knives. Its always in my pocket.

I recently picked up a D2 Queen country cousin. Wasn't dull out of the box, but not real sharp. I was initially pretty impressed with the quality of fit and finish for a $21 knife, but it developed a little blade play during the rather lengthy sharpening process to re-profile the what looks to me like a chisel edge. I know the other thread on D2 debating this. It doesn't bother me since I like to sharpen.

I fixed it a little with a little tap of a hammer over a cloth on the big pin, but it still wobbles a tiny bit. However, after quite some time sharpening, I think I will like the D2, since it seems like it will hold the edge for a good while. I don't think that it should have developed any blade wobble from sharpening, but I have to say I'm still happy with it for $21 and will use it. The snap is very good on it too. I don't know the Case sodbusters to compare, but pretty much everyone likes them.

My local knife shop has a Boker Argentinian-made Sodbuster with wood handles for about $20. The one I looked at was in good shape, had a good edge and looked a lot better than yellow delrin.

There seems to be a steady supply of yellow handle Case CV soddies at Smoky Mountain Knife works. They have the large and small in CV.

I was able to find the case small sodbuster in CV at Smokey Mountain Knife Works, but not the large. Can you post a link jackknife. Thanks.
