Carbon Steel Straight Razors from the Philippines

Some hand forged carbon steel straights from Bicol in the Philippines: these were made in a town that has been making edged tools for over five hundred years!

All three will take arm hair clean off, but I don't have the skills necessary to get them sharp enough to shave with yet. Just added them to the site!
 
Thanks David! I sold the first two and one of my buyers offered to sharpen up one for me, so I might just take him up on that.
 
The handles have an unorthodox, candy-like look!

Struggled with getting some vintage straights sharp enough for use on the face myself. All I could manage was a sub-standard shave with a LOT of effort and time. :D
 
Yeah, they definitely are unorthodox :) Honing a straight razor right sure takes a lot of skill (and some very high grit waterstones (or just one of those Belgian specials) if you want to get them right)!
 
Interesting! Not a fan of the handles, but the blades look VERY nice indeed!
