Carbon Steel Straight Razors from the Philippines

Some hand forged carbon steel straights from Bicol in the Philippines: these were made in a town that has been making edged tools for over five hundred years!

All three will take arm hair clean off, but I don't have the skills necessary to get them sharp enough to shave with yet. Just added them to the site!

Thanks David! I sold the first two and one of my buyers offered to sharpen up one for me, so I might just take him up on that.

The handles have an unorthodox, candy-like look!

Struggled with getting some vintage straights sharp enough for use on the face myself. All I could manage was a sub-standard shave with a LOT of effort and time.

Yeah, they definitely are unorthodox Honing a straight razor right sure takes a lot of skill (and some very high grit waterstones (or just one of those Belgian specials) if you want to get them right)!

Yup, they are prime candidates for rehandling. Can't wait to get mine back from my buyer so I can try it out!
