Has anyone else picked up any of the Carbon V SRK blanks from the old Camillus factory? I picked up 5 from ebay and the seller (lots of positive feedback for knives and stuff) said that the blanks are heat treated already.

So do other sellers on there.

When I got them, they seem to cut easily with a file. Easier than I think they should for being ht'ed blades.

The main reason I bought them is because I wouldn't have to send them out for heat treating, I could just cold grind them and be ready to go.

Just curious as to other peoples findings.

Yeah, there's no way they are ht'd. I took a file to them, and then took a file to a couple of chinese 420J beaters I've got and the 420 was much harder than the SRK blanks.

I ground three of them today. One convex, one saber, and one scandi that I'll have to clean up a little with a file and a guide to get the bevels even and flat.

Not up to a professional custom job, but it'll be fine for me to use and beat on.

I'll have to send them out for heat treating.
