Looking for ideas to keep and preserve a leather handled knife. Specifically a Randall. I have always just wiped it clean and kept a good coat of Lincolns hard wax (Nuetral) on all my leather, including leather handles. Anybody have better ideas? Carried much, used little, hot sweaty enviroment. Been using Sentry and Militech on all my steels without any problems.

I use SnowSeal for all my leather knife handles and sheathes, not to mention, smooth leather boots. Rub it on, melt it in with a hair dryer (wipe the wax off the handle before returnign it). Works great.

Bar none, the best leather conditioner and preserver that I have ever used is "Chelsea's Leather Food". Chelsea's is made in England and has been around since the 1800's. Leather can be waxed and polished after the Chelsea's has dried. It is usued a lot for top show horse saddles. You should be able to find it at tack shops. Big D1
