How fragile is the gold on a blade. The knife in question is a 4-dot 110 with a gold etched elk, I think by Aurum. Is it safe to just wipe oil on the blade? The brass bolsters are badly tarnished but the blade is pristine.
The knife appears to have come originally with a pack of flitz....surely not for the blade....;o)
