Hey guys -

In honor of one of our own who is currently deployed to Afghanistan, our office will be assembling a 'CARE" package to send out.

I know what I would want if I were there, but not sure we can actaully send that through the mail :D

So I am looking for some great suggestions on what a soldier in his position would actually like, want, or need to receive.

I am planning on shipping this out at the end of next week.

Thanks for any and all suggestions!!!

Have a safe and Happy Memorial Day - and thanks to all of those who have served and will serve!!! We appreciate You.

Much Respect!

When I was on the high seas,I always
enjoyed packages from home that contained
snack/junk food.
local newspaper
letters/messages/notes/pictures from friends and family
(I know, these days with the internet, but still,a hand written letter
and a printed picture....)

I would guess "local" stuff the guy was used to before
he deployed. These days I think they can buy
alot of snacks and things, but stuff that is local to his
home town wouldnt really be available there.

soft triple ply super charmin tp! :)

This is just awesome of you to help him out.
I recommend Beef Jerky, Planters dried peanuts, baby wipes, batteries, chewing gum, DVD's, magazines, socks.
My Family and I sent a care package to a Soldier in Iraq and the letter we got back from him made it all worth it. I only wish I had more to give these guys over there.

Much respect to you and yours for doing this

excellent suggestions gentlemen - Thank You

Keep em coming

Bruce, Send me your PayPal address and I'll send you some cash to help build your package.

Whats his job? recon he needs a horton knife? Maybe a Keemade knife?
I can hit you with a paypal donation, but id rather send something neat that he can use....

Good suggestions so far guys. Having served in Iraq and Afghan then I can only recommend depending on time of year not sending chocolate as it'll be running out the wrapper with the heat.

I think either of these would be good. First one for morale and second for use.

I'm not a soldier and have never been deployed but I have been hospitalized for extended periods before and the one thing I enjoyed getting from friends and family were comic books. Spider-man, Batman, Hulk, that sort of stuff. They provided a really good distraction.
