Any Care Takers around here? Looks like a pretty cool knife, have'nt seen any yet. I was curious as to how many were produced? Looks like a comfortable grip. Thanks, :)

Mmmmmmmm, Beautiful knife Resinguy. Love the Ergo's,,,:thumbup:

Just from reading old posts. Sounds like 14 were sold here, like Resinguys. The rest were a European release??? We know Jerry never tells how many were made. Atleast I did'nt see any reference,,,

That was my pick in the other recent thread for the best all-around Busse.:thumbup:

Nice layout JimmyJones, That Care taker's a great all round knife design short and stout. And that DCAsh-1 is no slouch either. Thanks for the photo's,

Thanks.

There were also 7 recurve versions, and a small number (3?) with a triple grind.

Caretaker was before my time, I traded into this one. AFAIK it is the Clip Point variant of a NO-E.

I messed up at Indy a few years ago. Saw one before I knew what it was, price was right, but didn't have coin at the time. $225.

Add another to the regrets file.....:grumpy:

What's the difference between the Caretaker and the 1 of 14 clip point NO-e?

Resinguy's picture is not a Caretaker. It is a 1 of 14 Desert Clip Point NO-E. I think that I once owned it.

The Caretaker was a European market product that was 0.25" thick and had no swedge grind. It was essentially a NO-E with a flat clip point and a butt grind. Very, very seldom you will see one offered on the secondary market in the U.S., which is how I acquired mine. The only ones I have ever seen are either black blades or satin blades.
