A blast from the past. Long ago, one of my collecting themes was different locking mechanisms. Over time, it became overwhelming, and while fun, my interests changed, and all were sold off decades ago ..... except this one ... until now. It was just a unique favorite, that I thought was real slick, had confounded almost every person I showed it to, and had never seen revisited, or duplicated that I am aware of. It may be one of the first collaborations as well. For your viewing pleasure, and consideration, is not only the knife, but the original advertisement and the entire knife world publication from March of 1984. Let me know what you think.
Here are the details:
The bolster on the left side slides up from the bottom to raise the lock bar. The bolster and the lock bar are connected at the top. Works real slick in use, and is not readily apparent to the casual observer. Bob Cargill is a custom maker, that I just do not hear about any more.
4.125" Long closed.
Smooth bone handles
Nickel Silver Bolsters.
Brass Liners
Matchstriker pull
Stamped with US patent # 4173068 on one side
Frost cutlery on the other.
23 years old, and in perfect NIB shape.
Everything for $SOLD delivered to your door. Check or Postal M/O preferred.
Thanks for looking,
Dave.
