A lot of us are familiar with Duluth Trading, Filson, etc. so I thought I would comment on one brand I don't see mentioned much: Walls WorkWear.
This is a line of clothing I haven't seen mentioned very often. I own a lot of Carhartt products so, that is the easiest comparison for me. Being a little tight on disposable income at the time, I took advantage of an on-line sale for Walls WorkWear. Equivalent jackets and similar things were about 1/2 the cost of comparable Carhartt products with normal street pricing.
I have been using a hooded zippered sweatshirt a lot. The zipper is metal and has held up to hard use for ~3 months so far. It is lined with a material that reminds me of the "fruit of the looms" thermal underwear. For a sweatshirt that cost less than $20 delivered, I have certainly gotten my money's worth out of it. It is plenty warm in moderate temperatures and resists wind pretty well so, overall I'd rate this as 5 out of 5 on a rating scale. Value is another 5 out of 5 as is quality of construction.
I also use a heavy weight jacket just short of arctic weight Carhartt. It resists a stiff wind well, is very warm in a hard driving mist or light rain driven by heavy wind. Again another 5 out of 5 and 5+ on value since it was only a touch over $30 delivered.
If you get the chance, be sure to look them over. I believe many will be surprised at the quality for the pricepoint when you catch them on sale.
