Does anyone have one? How do you like it?...pros & cons.

Comments about other Caribbean models.....

Edit: I really like the sheepfoot blade shape.

Mine had edge damage near the tip. It was hitting the lanyard tube when flicked shut even after I sharpened it twice. I sent it back to Spyderco yesterday for warranty work. Other than the edge damage, it seemed like a very nice knife.

It is a little bigger than I thought but in a really good way...it fills out the hand very well. The action is super smooth like most compression locks. I have not tested the rust-proofness but it has held an edge quite well. Full disclosure : I really love sheepfeet so I am a little biased.

I absolutely loved mine until I tried taking it apart to clean it. Whoever assembled the knife put an insane amount of loctite on the pivot and the stand offs, especially the bottom one (near the lanyard tube). The loctite was so bad in that standoff that both screws stripped out. I use high quality wiha tools and even tried applying heat to the standoff to loosen the loctite after the screw on one side stripped out.

I didn’t need to take the knife apart but I wanted to because I had taken it to the beach earlier this summer and wanted to make sure all the salt and sand was cleaned out. Also, I just enjoy disassembling and reassembling my knives. My Gayle Bradley 2 (another Taichung model) comes apart and goes back together with no issues. The amount of loctite used on the Caribbean was completely unnecessary. :(

I don’t have the sheepfoot, I have the leaf. I love the size, I agree it fills my hand perfect. The texture on the handle is a great touch, you could use this with gloves no problem. Also, mine came screaming sharp! Only thing I don’t love, is the way the blade tucks deep into the handle, it’s a little hard to spydie flick. All in all, I would give this a strong recommendation.

I was really impressed with the Caribbean.
Like above, screaming sharp, and excellent ergos.
It's a truly impressive Spyderco.
