I have an older (25 years) Hueske Pro Hunter with ivory slab handle. The ivory is in pretty good shape except for a few tiny cracks around the rivets. Chubby told me to use mineral or baby oil on the grip if I wasn't using it much to keep it moisturized. One thing I need to find out is how to clean the grip. I once used Brasso to get the rivets clean & that left dark stains in the tiny cracks in the ivory. Is there any way to clean the ivory & generally restore its color. Unfortunately the knife spent some time in the leather sheath & one side of the handle is a bit darker than the other. I am not afraid of resurfacing the handle if it doesn't mean going very deep. The knife has a tapered tang, red liners & ivory slabs. The guard is brass as are some of the rivets. Several of the rivets are nickel silver. That was the reason the knife was a reject, Chubby didn't notice the nickel silver rivets when assembling the knife. He gave it to me & had to make another for his client. After all is done, how should I maintain the ivory & keep the metal shiny? BTW I just received the Tuf-Glide kit with Tuf-Cloth from Sentry solutions, if that would be appropriate for care.
