This may be the wrong area for this thread but I know there are a lot of folks here in traditionals that like ivory and as a material used for knife production I don't think it gets much more traditional. In any event, I just wanted to find out from the forum folks how to care for ivory, especially older ivory? Does require oil or ren-wax, should it be stored differently, what methods should be used to prevent cracking or deterioration, etc.? Your help and knowledge is much appreciated!

From my experience (limited) the main thing is to control the humidity. Too low and it will shrink, too high and it will swell. Shrinkage produces bolster gaps and swelling causes pin cracks. If it is well "seasoned" it should be relatively stable, but a light coating of clear paste wax will help.

Wax is OK, but an occasional light rub with mineral oil will help keep the ivory hydrated and hopefully keep it from cracking as it ages. Same goes with stag or opal, mineral oil will keep it from drying out. Oil from your hands, etc. will turn white ivory slowly into a beautiful creamy color.
