I've searched ,but have not found how to care for pearl handles for storage.I have a collection of Case knives with various handle materials.I have been wiping them down with a silicone cloth and have had no trouble thus far.How about on pearl? Any better ideas? thanx in advance.

My impression is that even though pearl is fragile in terms of impact, it is pretty stable and is no problem when stored. It doesn't react to environment like ivory. I generally put a little Rennaisance Wax on it.

Pearl does develop a patina over time. Very old peices tend to loose their color and turn milky white. Although, I have not tried it, I understand that it is fairly simple to buff the patina off and restore the original luster and color.

Welcome to Bladeforums.

I'm sorry that I don't have the answer for your question, but, maybe Shirley from W.R.Case & Sons can answer this for you.
You can get ahold of her at that other Knife Forum.

If you come up with an answer, let us know too. I would like to know how to treat pearl(or what is OK to come in contact with) mother of pearl handles.
