Fellow posters; at the specific and firm request of Carley Lamps, the previous thread has been deleted. This is due to the fact that Carley Lamps were mentioned in conjunction with a certain well known flashlight. This violates Carley's legal relationship with said manufacturer.

Since the request was honored, no changes are anticipated in their sale of the special order lamps to fit certain two AA and two AAA cell flashlights.

I have all the C/D lamps, and you may send in your SASE's. I will try and get most everything out next week, but you should be aware that my ex-wife, Liz, has had a radical mastectomy in the recent past, and is on chemotherapy, thus the care of our 9 yo son has been somewhat chaotic, making my schedule the same. In addition, I have adopted a litter of abandoned kittens (4 weeks old). This doesn't make things any easier (but a lot more fun).

You will get your stuff, just be patient, please. Walt

Thanks to all you posters who are praying for my wife.

All the orders went out today; I e-mailed those to whom I sent them. If you didn't get an e-mail, and either are on the freebie (LEO, RN, Firefighter, EMT, foreign resident) list, or if you sent me a SASE, then there is something wrong; please e-mail me.

I have plenty of lamps in all sizes for C and D cells. The special order xenon lamps for two AA and two AAA cells will be here in about 3 weeks. They are expensive, about $5 each. I will send some to Brock and David Williams for testing.

Feel free to order some lamps even if you are reading this for the first time.

How do I find these AA Xenon bulbs? I've got a couple of 2 AA cell lights, can I get Xenon bulbs for these?

Do I need special expensive batteries for the Xenon bulbs?

Cheers, Joe

You can find the T1 xenon bulbs here. They're $4.95 for a 2-pack.

I recomend Duracells or Energizers. Nothing super-fancy needed.

From what I recall reading David is right about the Next Star bulbs being Xenon, or at least brighter than regular AA MagLight bulbs, but you would not know it from their web site description of the flashlight: http://www.thebrinkmanncorp.com/product.asp?Product_ID=176

or the bulb link David posted.

"Advanced technology optics" what ad person wrote this drivel??? I don't mind them polishing up the description, if they would also give us the FACTS!!!!

The package the bulbs come in has "xenon" splashed all over it. And in use the color temperture (ask Walt for a full explanation) is the same as other xenon bulbs. The bulb life is a bit longer too. I'd guess up to 50% longer.

Color temperature is, of course, the predominant wavelength of the light expressed in degrees Kelvin, which means degrees Celsius above absolute zero.

In practical terms, xenon lamps are bright, blue-white, and kick a$$!! They are similar to the high voltage lights used on Porsches and other, lesser, European cars (and some domestic cars).
