Hello everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself here. My name’s Carley and I’m Andy’s apprentice currently. I’m the founder of Darlington Edgecraft and I’ve been doing this for around 4 months now. We just had a competition at Yellow Rose Forge and I thought I was show the knife I was able to pump out within that small couple of hours we were given

I’d also love to thank Andy for teaching me the ropes of knife making because I don’t think I would’ve ever found a better teacher than him. This has been a dream of mine for many years now and I’m very grateful to have the mentor that I do 😄

Anyways! Here’s the knife I made. Its model is Sugar with a Podauk handle.

Very cool! I've been eyeing your Johnny Bravo as a harvest knife. I collectt wild edibles and I make my own natural medicinal / nutritional extracts from various flowers, fungi, seeds, and roots. It looks like it would be a great candidate for a knife for surgically harvesting the materials I use without unnecessary damage to the rest of the plant, other plants, or my hands from the briers. I just bought tires and paid all my bills so things are tight for a bit, but if it sticks around a little while I'll pick it up.

Are wild edibles the same as you buy at the dispensaries? LOL

Johnny Bravo has been one of my favorites to make. I have one up on fiddleback and one on my own website. But I’ll be more than happy to brag about one of my knives being used to harvest edibles if you do grab one 😆

Excellent! So when I do things like this with it, and people asked questions about it, I can tag you and you can answer their questions 😁

I've spent the last 5 years doing intense research into ancient medicines and the plants that are used to make them, and I make several extracts at this point and make a few concoctions by mixing some of them, I've spent the same amount of time studying better tool designs for the tasks at hand.

I turned 60 last week, and I feel better today than I did 20 years ago, and I haven't seen the inside of a hospital or an MD in about 10 years. I haven't taken any alieve or ibuprofen in almost a year, and the last few years I barely took any, just on my worst days after 10 hours on concrete.

But as you may notice in the thread, here on Blade Forums there isn't much traffic in the W&SS section nowdays. So I do more skills posts on BCUSA now that I'm back to doing that sort of thing when I have time, I've always written under a different pseudonym there. I joined both forums in the early days of my experience with the net and online forums. It would appear more people are interested in discussing the old ways over there than here on BF now. And I dare say they will probably have some interest in your knives as well from what I've seeen of them so far.
