Last Wednesday, I received a REKAT Carnivore as a Birthday gift from my wife. As has been mentioned many times on the forums, mine was difficult to open and quite gritty. Jailhack was kind enough to email me his remedy for this problem which involved disassembly and polishing. I thought, given my propensity for screwing up many projects, I would just oil the knife and work the action repeatedly. This has seemd to work quite well. The knife still doesn't open as easily as my Axis Lock or other Benchmades, but it is quite serviceable....about the same degree of stiffness as my Cold Steel Voyager. So, for those similarly unskilled, a bit of lubricant and some patience works quite well.
