I just got my Carny for Yekim. (Thanks

) I wasn't really impressed with the way the G-10 isn't flush with the liners, and how the liners have dings in them (I guess from the CNC Mill or something), so I took out the sandpaper and went to town. So far tonight I just flushed the scales and the liners, and smoothed it all out. I think that this weekend I'm gonna void my warranty and take the thing appart.

I've read up on all the Carny disassemly threads, so I hope I'm ready. I think I'm going to give the clip and the inside of the lienrs a nicer finish. I've read that many people "polish" inside the pivot area. Could anyone provide a little more info on how this is done without over-boring the pivot hole? What other mods should I think about?

Thanks in advance,
Mitch

p.s. I'll try not to loose the spring

, although I'm sure it will go flying into the black hole of my dorm room

UW Mitch,

Check your e-mail for Rekat surgery.

My Carnivour has finally come out of surgery. Thanks to Dr. Jailhack for sending me surgical directions.

I flushed and satin finished the liner edges, and mirror finished in inside of the liners. I also polished the the contact surfaces between the RL bar and the blade blank. The action is SUPER smooth

. It came out better than expected.

Can't wait for my green one to come in from Pro-Edge!

OK that's it, I will try one out.
I am a die-hard fixed blade fan but the more I read about the REKAT line the more I want one.
So, now who can tell me where to get one at a decent price? Your help is greatly appreciated.
TIA,

Roy

Roy, post your request in the "knives wanted" forum. Carnivore's go pretty quickly in the "For Sale" forum, but you will probably get some response if you keep your post at the top of the pile for a day or two.

Now for the $40.00 question: Where do I find the ultra fine grit sand papers you are talking about, and do I use wet or dry?
Talk about a novice.

I can't wait to get mine and give it the personal touch.

Please help me with the above question.

TIA,

Roy
