Very rare hawk you have there. Have you ever done a sheath for the Sayoc axe?

if Kevin does one for a Sayoc Winkler I will need one also...He just finished the RMJ for me and one for a TOPS COmmanche 2....I just ordered a spike SW from Mr Winkler this week...
BTW Kevin/Tietactical has been a great guy to work with and his stuff is great...he is working on a bottom eject for a SOG Fasthawk (its a good small disposable hawk) and I think he will sell a bunch of them.
Im waiting on my RMJ (pic above) to come back in the mail (it was hard to send it away).
Good luck Kevin...hope your business does great

RMJ if youre reading this...are you coming to TTPOA this year? didnt see yall last year...met Richard year before that and missed RMJ the year before that one. Hope to shake your hand someday...

I got a couple of those Fasthawks at Wal-Mart no less, $20 each. I've beat the hell out of mine, I thought it would break, but it's very tough. A bottom release kydex sheath would be great, a quick release is vital. The stock sheath is just a cover.

That's a good looking rig, like how you did the prybar extension. Would love to see how you would do a bottom eject version. I have one of those Kestrals and it's one of my favorite RMJ's, as are the other old school Kestrals.

Thanks all for the kind words.
I have been talking to Mr Winkler about doing a prototype carrier for the Sayoc so there is a possibility.
I completed a run of 10 sheaths for his utility knife for a SWAT team about a month ago.

You mean this Mr.Robinson:

I carry my hawks on the side of my plate carrier. Have you made a bottom ejections sheath like this?

I will be designing a bottom eject in the near future, I have to catch my backlog up a bit so that I can dedicate the time necessary.
Keep an eye out here as when I get a prototype completed I will post pictures.

I lost my rmj talon....I looked and looked for it....if I had had a thumb break strap or a design like this one I never would have lost it..

Sorry you lost your talon - what generation scabbard were you carrying? I haven't had anyone that I know of lose one out of the newer scabbards made over the last three years. Of course they have dual retention. Could you contact our office next week about it?

I along with a friend purchased a few RMJ Forge Eagle Talons from RMJ Forge back in 2002. One of the hawks went as a gift to my best friend who was active duty and about to deploy at the time. The other two stayed with myself and another friend both of us in Law enforcement and both of us prior service. All three of us loved the hawks and used them as camp tools and carried them in our cars as tools kept for emergencies.

Since I did a lot of hiking I had added a thumb strap to my sheath as an extra retention precaution. When my best friend was about to deploy we traded sheaths because he liked the thumb strap (he still has this sheath and Talon). I got his and intended to add the same kind of thumb strap but had not gotten around to it.

Fast forward to about three weeks later (it was now early 2003)I went hiking/shooting on another friends land and took my talon (as I always did at the time with me). I carried it on my belt in the back handle down on my right side. At some point I took a knee to take a shot and the leg of the hawk must have pressed up and out falling on the 2-3 foot grassy growth (I do not know where or when this actually took place). As we reached the end of the hike my friend asked me where my hawk was I reached back and sure enough it was gone.

I searched for about three hours that day looking everywhere I thought we had traveled on this area of about 500 grass and wooded plot. I tried many other time to find this hawk and I even tried using a 4 foot magnet on rollers and a metal detector with no luck.

That piece of land is in Oklahoma and I have since moved to KY. My friend knows that if he ever finds it or if another family member ever finds it to let me know I am not sure how it will look after 9 years in the wild but I would love to at least see it and get pictures.

So I lost it and have not had as of yet an opportunity to replace it with another RMJ.

I have never thought that it was RMJ's fault or even the Sheath fault. The Eagle Talons were fairly new at the time and it was a new product of course there were going to be some bugs to work out.

On another note both other tomahawks are still going strong and being used for outdoor/camping activities on the deployment my friend used his on everything from opening MRE's to ammo cans and found it to be a great tool. On the return trip home they tried to say he could not bring back any war trophies he showed them the USA stamping on it as well as his nieces name that was engraved on it (my daughters name was engraved on both the Hawks) and that solved that little problem we both think someone was trying to get a hawk for themselves but back in 2003 I do not think they were many in the desert as there are today.

Thank you RMJ forge for the wonderfull hawks you have made and you share no blame in this. what amounts to my carelessness
