All,
Plan on purchasing a small fixed blade (probably a Camillus Arclite or WM1 Fallkniven); how should I carry it? Interested in IWB, but would like to hear opinions. Open to suggestions though.

They are both ideal for pocket carry.

My WM-1, care of ONE STOP KNIFE SHOP, fits nicely in the front pocket and is attached to my belt using the included neck cord.

The neck version WM-1 comes with pre-drilled holes for Tek-Lock attachment to your belt, the Tek-Lok purchased separately.

Kydex sheath makers like River City Sheaths offer third party kydex that feature a nice IWB method of carry. I don't think you even have to send the knife in for these, as the production method of making these knives ensure each one is near identical.

Lately I've taken to carrying my small fixed blade horizontally on my belt.

I like to put the tip of the blade right at my belt buckle. This way the handle is easy to access and the knife is easy to sheath.

Works great and easy to conceal.

Lately I've been carrying a neck knife. It's under my shirt, and doesn't offer a "quick draw" defense option, but I don't plan on being attacked at work. It's a small 5-inch oal Wharncliffe-bladed necker that I made myself, so I just like wearing it. So far all I've used it for was shaving some arm hair (test) and to cut my coworker's mouse cord when he wasn't looking. :D

i carry my TOPS Wolf Pup small of the back

it's nice to have a stout fixed utility handy, and it disappears under a tshirt and i can sit in the car and barely feel it.

Do you use the sheath that comes with it or a different one?

Where do you get that carry system? Custom??

I carry my Dozier Straight Personal in a horizontal sheath on my belt over my left pocket, handle forward. This is crossdraw position for me since I am right handed. I've found it to be easily accesable here and by far the most comfortable spot I have found for it. I barely notice it is there.

i think it is (maybe older model?) standard. it was probably set up for outside belt crossdraw for a righty. kydex w/ a 45 degree cant to the black steel clip. but i just put the sheath under my belt at the center back. easily accessable w/ right hand and suprisingly easy to index knife and sheath for the resheath, but definately a two handed operation.

You can use the sheaths that come with them. Check the Falkniven site, as they can supply the WM-1 with a neck sheath or belt sheath, I think. I have the neck sheath version that also has the holes for the optional Tek-Lok.

Take a look at Dozier's small blades as noted above. I have the small utility. What makes these cool is Dozier's excellent sheath work. Here is the reason you might like these better (besides the quality of the knife)

The Dozier belt sheath places the clip on center of the sheathed knife width. What this means is, with a small length blade, both ends tend not to stick out all that much. In contrast, if I put the Tek-Lok on the WM-1 sheath, this blade, which is the same overall length as my Dozier, puts the Tek-Lok closer to one end, so that the handle sticks out more than I'd like - to the extent that I may as well carry a longer blade in a similar position on my belt.

Maybe decide where you really want to have the blade carried - that might help you decide.

The WM-1 is cool in that it's small enough for jeans pocket, slim enough for non-printing neck carry - and you can afix the Tek-Lok, so long as you don't mind the handle sticking out a bit.

Otherwise, a small Dozier is amazing for daily belt carry horizontally.

Lately I have been making sheaths for my small fixed blades with a boot clip. I generally clip this on my pocket, but it can go most anywhere the clip will grab.

If you don't mind investing in a decent after market sheath and if concealed carry is legal where you live, I'd recommend going for SOB carry. I've got a small paracord-wrapped custom that I carry this way. It's very unobtrusive yet easy to access.
Should work extremely well with the Arclite (provided you get a custom sheath made for it).

Verzejd,

I agree with Chief... horizontal carry also works best for me.

Most of the time I carry a Jens Anso fixed blade in a horizontal sheath. It´s a relatively small blade (2" blade) which is really comfortable to carry. I´ve tried other setups with other knives, including IWB, but this always is a little uncomfortable for me after a whole day carrying the knife like this.

The sheath for the Anso is setup to ride exactly along the belt horizontally, not above or under the belt. Especially Kydex sheaths are often setup to ride a little bit above the belt. I find this to be less comfortable.

Just my thoughts...

If it's about a 2" blade, horizontal carry is great. I carried a REKAT Fang for a few months like that and loved it. I just traded for a WM-1 and am going to try it like that. However, I've really started to like strong-side IWB carry. I carry a 4" fixed there nearly everyday and I find it to be very comfortable and convenient. Really it's just personal preference. I carried mine nearly everywhere imaginable before I found IWB. Now I'm pretty well set with that.

Dozier sheaths are inspired.
My K9PU is either on my belt (horiz.) or in my coat or BDU pocket, every day.
Off of the belt, you can almost 'shoot' the sheath off the knife :)
The knife aint shabby either ;)

I spotted this knife on the Knifecenter.com website and its lines were appealing. For only about $28 it was too good to pass up, so I bought two. I LOVE THIS KNIFE! It is a sturdy little small fixed blade, and the handle is also very comfortable, with torx screws for removability. I seriously don't see how you can do better for the money. I carry the knife under a shirt, clipped onto a belt, although the sheath is designed also for neck carry. I strongly recommend the Timberline Mini Pit Bull (Lightfoot design). :)

Several folks are recommending horizontal carry; are these custom made & where can I get one? & who makes good IWB sheaths? Please Please make suggestions on where I can get these sheaths. Thanks in advance.

Eric over at On Scene tactical is a great guy to deal with, plus great sheaths.

One word about the Dozier sheaths. You have to wear a belt to wear the knife. The clip clips from the bottom of the sheath, so you can't wear it without a belt. Other than that, they're really nice.

I just finished this sheath for my BM TK-1. Exactly 1 1/2" wide so you can't even tell it's on your belt. Hopefully this'll give you some ideas.

I have a greco dangler that i usually hang from a belt loop, but if i want it out of sight then I just clip it to a small lanyard and tuck it iwb with the lanyard attached to my belt loop, very concealable. Also very affordable, over all a great little carry piece.
