Hello all,

Does anyone know about the carry laws for Big Bear, CA? Specifically, can I wear my 110 on my belt in a sheath? Any info on legally carrying a folder and a small fixed blade (BK24) is appreciated. Best I can tell, the 110 in a belt sheath is OK--can anyone confirm or deny? Not sure about the small fixed.

Thanks.

Far as i know, you can carry anything you can leggally own in california as long as you do so openly

Fixed has to be showing or in backpack.

Folder, no size limit but I hear 'one handers' are hit and miss, depending on county laws.

I wear a giant kukri on my hikes in cali and no one seems to mind.

Under state law, any fixed blade must be carried openly,(CA Penal Code 21310) with belt carry specifically mentioned as acceptable (CA Penal Code 20200). State law does not place any restriction on common folders such as the 110. (no cite because there is no law)

Under San Bernardino County law, it is illegal to sell automatic knives to minors,(22.0110), and it is illegal to carry a fixed blade in an airport (71.0405) or any knife at all in a courthouse (Chapter 13). It has no other knife laws.

Big Bear Lake only parrots the restriction on sale of autos to minors (9.92.060)

Conclusion: Provided your not entering a restricted building of some kind, your 110 is fine no matter how you want to carry it, even fully concealed. Your BK24 must be carried openly and your jacket or clothing must not cover it.
