Hi,

I am at present planning a holiday to Bangkok and I know that in the past, carrying a small folder won't give you trouble by police there. Can anyone update me any latest changes?

Also, I wonder whether anyone knows if things like pepper spray are allowed for personal protection, and if not, whether there are any laws banning the carry and use of paint spray like what is offered by Stoppa Red?

Cheers,

i know you can carry a gun there legally with no licence if you are carrying more than 200,000 baht.

this in no way constitutes legal advice. consult an attorney before carrying items that could be regarded as weapons.

Hi I'm thai

Carrying a small folder(or any mid-big folder & fix....we not jude by size) ....actually it illegally .....but you can carry by conceal .....For my opinion "neck knife" is good idea.
(fine for carrying knife in public place is only 200 B -_-')
and keep away from anyplace are not allow any weapon.
(I have 2 Spyderco as EDC....Endura W & Native)

Gun .......(most)people in Thailand have only permit license for have&use (in their place) not to carry (can bring it by seperate gun bullet & mag such as gun in the back hood with Box&lock and other part at back seat ) Only officer have carrying license.
for urgen situation like "swordofthesavior" said....Yes but you have to answer many many Question from Police. :(

You can use pepper spray for personal protection.

Sorry for my english.
if you have any doubt for my language please tell me. I will try to explain it again.

Welcome to Thailand
Cheers,:)
