Is there a thread somewhere or a video online on how to conveniently carry/strap 2 knives/multiple knives while backpacking. I usually have room on thighs, lower legs, chest and waist.

Thanks....and yes, I'm very new.

Actually this is a question that many 'not new' knife people couldn't answer...

What type of knives do you have or want to carry?

Best,
Marion

I'm carrying a SOG Seal Pup Elite w/Kydex sheath and a Shrade Extreme Survival Knife SCHF I.

Also have a medium sized multi-tool w/case that I assume will just go on my belt.

Seal Pup Elite on your belt or lashed to your pack strap; Schrade SCHF 1 in your pack.

I do recall a thread about how to carry a sheath knife when wearing a large backpack with a belt harness. But I can't remember in which section, and I couldn't find it in Wilderness/Survival or by doing a general search just now.

The SOG can be carried inverted on your packstrap, if the sheath is strong enough.

The Schrade could be put in your pack, or zip-tied to your pack waist belt.

Alternately, if you want them to be attached to you, and not your pack....

The SOG could be put on a baldric (shoulder strap, over the head, under the arm) rig of paracord, which would thread under the pack.

Really the issue is the sheath, whether or not it offers the retention and modularity needed to be carried in the way you like.

Most of the time, if im hiking, ill carry something like an rc-3 or smaller fixed blade inverted on my pack strap. The other one, most likely a chopper, will be lashed to the molle webbing on the side of the pack.

G'day mate!
I agree with the other folks here. The multi-tool is small/compact so he goes on the belt.
I suggest your survival knife goes inside the pack and the other feller carry it on a separate belt to hang "low" that is a bit lower than off your belt and this way it wont interfere with your backpack too much. Think of the gun belt that was used to carry a "six" gun. If you are handy at leather work (a new skill for you if you are not) make the knife belt yourself. Keep it simple.
All the best let me/us know how you get on.:thumbup:PS we are all still learning!

I generaly carry more than two knives on my person when hiking etc.

One is usualy a 10" bladed bowie. I attach a folder or smaller knife in the sheath to the large knife sheath by use of a piece of cut innertube (motorcycle). Many folks call them ranger bands.

That goes the same for me, RC-4 on the pack shoulder strap high on the chest and a chopper of some kind strapped to the side of my pack. small folder on belt as well. I use a Maxpedetion Condor-II Backpack for hikes and camping so there's lots of options for carrying and hanging what I need where I want it.
