Hello Everyone,

I have been carrying a small (2 1/2") folder for a couple of years now and I recently ordered my first (BAWIDAMANN BLADES POGN TUNGSTEN BLK G10 VZ GRIPS (can't wait to get it!) fixed blade for EDC.

My main uses for the folder is every day task, i.e. cutting packages/mail open, cutting cardboard down for recycling etc. The fixed blade will serve as a backup utility /defensive tool.

My question to everyone who carries a folder and a fixed blade is.. what side(s) do you carry them on? Do you carry both of them on you're strong-arm side, weak-arm side, or do you carry them on opposite sides.. and if so, which one where, and why?

If you would be so kind as to answer a couple of questions I would be very grateful.

The reason I ask: Is there an advantage to carrying on a certain side and position, and if so, what's the Advantage/Disadvantage.. plus, we might all learn something!?

1) Folder: Side Carried - Left/Right=
Strong-Arm - Yes/No=

2) Fixed: Side Carried - Left/Right=
Strong-Arm - Yes/No=

3) Fixed: Carry Position - Forward/Reverse Grip=
Why=

4) Fixed: Carry Position - Tip Up/Down=
Why=

5) Fixed: Concealed - Yes/No=

Thanks for the input, Phil B.

I carry a handgun on my strong side so it's my habit to keep my knife in my off hand front pocket.

My only locking folder is a Benchmade Griptillian and it's setup for tip up carry.

If it works with your style of dress I actually like a small fixed blade around my neck. I got used to carrying my knife like that when fishing and I can stanly needed my knife when my hands were full, it was just easily accessible in that position.

OP, you're complicating this. :)

I usually carry a fixed blade strong-side with a few exceptions....such as when I'll be driving a lot (crossdraw or horizontal is better), minglling among the haughty-toity (kidney IWB or boot), motorcycling (rear pocket or horizontal crossdraw)....stuff like that.

Folders are always strong side pocket or belt case for me.

P.S. Wish you hadn't tipped me to these knives...but thanks. I like the stonewash.

I don't know dude...
I just wake up and stick my Sebenza in my back right pocket:)

I'm right handed FWIW...

I carry my fixed cross draw so I can get to it with either hand (Im a lefty, so can icepick draw with my right) and folder in left pocket. Fixies come out faster easier and the same basic way for all fixies, so can draw what ever is on the belt the same way all the time no matter which I am carrying. Pistol goes iwb in the small of my back or strong side hip. Only lefty draw that way though.
