The more I get into making kydex sheaths, the more I start thinking about carry options and preferences. There is such a multitude of different aftermarket sheaths these days that one has a lot of options. High ride, low ride, horizontal, canted, IWB, harnesses, etc. come to mind.

What's your carry preference(s) for, say, a NO to BM class blade?

What about for a small, EDC class fixed blade?

Feel free to post pics :D

I have a ton of sheaths so my carry options are endless.
My favorite method of carry is IWB. David Brown made
me an outstanding IWB for a Mr. Mojo and it's my
favorite. (Not for the fainthearted though.)

Dave Brown (formerly known as Dave Brown) got me into multi-position cross-draw sheaths. Really comes in handy having the knife out of way for your dominant arm.

Crossdraw is good, especially for big blades. Lets
you carry your handgun, strongside!:D ;)

For the sizes you mention, canted cross draw is my favorite. My Basic #5 however is horizonal cross draw or SOB horizontal.

My favorite carrys for large blades are very low ride, cross-draw canted or horizontal, and, most recently, strong side horizontal with the belt loop next to the buckle.

Small blades, horizontal, either side.

Big blades go low ride strong side, but the smaller members (anything .45 and under;)) go SOB any day!

Could never get use to low-ride sheaths. Tried one with a straight BM, and a custom kydex made for a SOG Seal 2000. Were great for unsheathing, but I ran into problems resheathing. It's just natural tendancy for my arm to tilt the blade at a slight angle towards my body. Took to much concentration and fear to make sure I didn't stab myself, lol :) This problem being present with dominant side mounted low-ride sheahts, not cross-draw.
