Whats yours like? Same knife everyday or do you have one for every day of the month? Lately ive been carrying the Mini 7 everyday and most times a Horseman with it. Just ordered a Mini 15 and im thinking that could take the place of carrying those two knives. When i feel the need to carry a knife with self defense in mind or just to feel like a badass ill carry the Tiger :)

I was rotating through my Emersons and the few ZT's that I have regularly. Now that I have my both my grail knives. My EDC will probably become one of the grails in RFP and a Emerson for work use that day in the RRP. There are some that I like to keep prettier so those don't get used for "hard" chores end up in RFP rotation too.

Some of the time I will carry a knife for an extended period but I have so many knives now that I like to rotate just so I can justify keeping them. There are some that get carried often and some that don't get a lot of love. I brought 3 with me this week and as soon as I get home on Friday I will probably change it up. I have a few that I like to keep pretty too so if I carry one of those I will usually carry a second one.

When I worked in a profession were I carried a firearm daily for work, I lived by a simple KIS RULE. Keep things simple, fimiluar, and don't make changes that confuse the brain when an emergency calls. Smith & Wesson Revolvers all work the same, and function the same. Duty & B.U.G were Smith & Wesson Revolvers.

Today I the same brand of knife for EDC, why they work, and operate the same. As Emerson makes only two of its knives lefted hand. Should not take a Phd to figure out what two Emerson Model I own.

BTW I like Glock Pistols, like the Emerson Knife, Glocks work, function, take punishment, are not pretty, sexy, or anythin g but a fine working tool.

My CQC 9 is always on my left hand side. These days my right hand side rotates between a CQC 7, a L-UDT and an Ultratech.

I let my moods and urges decide. It is almost always an Emerson, often in combination with another often smaller knife for "sensitive" sheeple. Lately the CRK bug has nipped at me and a Small Micarta Sebenza 21 has joined the rotation. Last two days a Large CF Insingo has been on board with a Roadhouse SF in the primary spot.

The knife is the only part of my EDC that changes on the regular. Depends on the mood I'm in, which pair of pants (pocket type) I'm wearing that day, which knife hasn't been let out to play for a while, etc., etc.

Good point about the pockets. I have some jeans that don't like a "taller" knife like a Commander or Tiger. Those are often Horseman days. The Roadhouse and CSF also do pretty well in pockets with small openings.

Mood, works for me also.
Most days it's my HD7 but when I want big badazz, it's my Jungle commander.
A Higonokami tanto now always rides as back-up. I just love this traditional Japanese folder.

Off topic but how much better is the HD-7 and why? Ive never even held a framelock Emerson and ive been debating investing in one? The only framelock i have alot of experience with is a ZT. Thanks.

The HD7 is not better, imo. I just like the simplicity of the RIL, aka, frame-lock.

Right now I have about an 80 day rotation. I do make exceptions depending on what I am doing that day. But generally I just grab the next knife in the roation every morning. Keeps it mindless and allows me to feel like I "use" every knife I have.

i try to keep my "collection" small as everyone gets used and carried. Before work I hit the fun box and decide what it will be fore the day. Sometimes I'll carry a knife for a few days in a row, sometimes it switches everyday. Sometimes it switches twice a day, just depends on the mood.

The "Fun Box" on the dresser:

Me, I have sold nearly everything in my EDC collection, and I'm now down to 3. The Iron Dragon (in pocket now), Regiment, and a Journeyman. For the past 2+ years I have carried the Journeyman 95% of the time.

I carry the "knife of the day" in my RFP. This can be anything from my collection including, but not limited to, an Emerson. I carry an Emerson every day without fail in my LFP. This is usually my ETAK or CQC-8.

The LFP Emerson is for emergency use, or tasks my RFP knife may not be up to.

The only Emerson I own is the 0620 I got a couple of months ago, it has not left my pocket since. I like it so much that I bought a second one.:D Every morning when selecting my carry of the day I pass on a Sng, 0392, 0562, 0350, etc and again pocket a 0620.

One day, but for now its my Raven, dgg SNG or maybe my HD7

thanks RedDevil its my small "modest" collection. I like to keep it around 5-6 knives as I rotate and use them all! My old man built the box to my specs, all the drawers are removable, there is one more small drawer I do not have in at the moment as it's not quite needed. One or two more knives and it will be in!
