Carry-style for heavier or larger knives

Hey folks, as my collection of larger BKs grows, I'm starting to wonder about methods of carry other than the standard sheathes. I like the idea of scout-style carry, as well as dangler/drop-leg.

I'm curious about your experience with either/ both styles of carry (or best style of carry), particularly for the BK-2, BK-4 and BK-7.

Thanks in advance!

Like many others have done, I removed the floppy nylon belt hanger from the stock sheath (being careful not to damage the rivet holes as I tugged-out the rivets) of my BK2 and just installed a Size Large Tec-Lok (so the sheath rides vertically) using the three matching holes. The knife and sheath are clamped to a double-layered black nylon Uncle Mike's gun belt. The knife rides high and tight and close but can still be accessed one-handed very quickly.

Ive done the same with my Bk2. Drilled out the old rivets and put the tec lok through there. I like it because it gives you the option of wearing scout style as well. For my unused BK22 i have a leather sheath i will post and let you all know about on completion.

For the Bk9 i'm eventually gonna grab the Kydex piggy back style from Dex and throw my Deskabar on as well. So many options.

In a word, Baldric. I don't like carrying any knife on my belt, so I find a Baldric fills the bill for any medium to large sized blades.

I use Baldric for the 9. Thrift store XL leather belt. BK2 I carry horizontal with tekloc. Haven't carried the 5 yet. The KA-BAR Kukri machete I carry on my belt. The dangler really is pretty comfortable. I loosely tether it to my leg as well. When I carry it, it doesn't stay in the sheath much tho because I know it's going to work.

Thanks for the feedback and ideas guys! I'm going to have to try a few of these out and see what's most comfortable.
If there are any other ideas, keep em' coming!
Thanks again!

I really prefer the dangler as long as it's not a handle-heavy knife (tends to want to flip over w/o leg cord if the balance is more in the handle).

I tend to be in-out of vehicles a lot, and the dangler allows the blade to rotate for easy sitting. The drop also makes it easier to find my knife while in a longer coat, and it gets it out of the way of my pistol.

Hey Slice, not to hijack my own thread, but do you have a BK-4? If so, how do you find it compares to the Ka-bar Kukri?

Thick leather belt with sturdy suspenders will hold just about anything with heft.
