After losing my Spyderco Persistence out of my pocket today I have considered picking up a small bailed folding knife. My question to you guys is the best method of attachment? I don't want it on my keys and don't carry a pocket watch.

What methods work for you?

You could make a leash

I used to think bails were the shizz when I was scout and had a clip on my belt. I have a couple of Saks with the ring and some paracord attached that I use as sort of a lanyard, but those are hiking/camping knives, not edc. I've been eying the white owl but think I would go for the bail-less. The short lanyard ala the back pocket might work alright even in a front pocket.

Pocket watch chain (or even the clip sans chain) clipped to the edge of the pocket is unobtrusive, works well, and has easy access. Sorta like those newfangled titanium 'suspension clips' they sell for your keychain.

TEC Accessories P-7 suspension clip is one option. Lets you hang it from the corner of your pants pocket.

Or get a Boker Keycom and use the clip as a pocket hanger for your other knife.

I carry my clasp knife in a belt pouch with a chain clipped to a belt loop - snap-link at either end and I have an old Scout whistle on the belt side. The chain stops me breaking my foot if I drop it! :D

I use a short lanyard not to get in the way when in use, and secure it to a button sown to my trousers.

Didn't have a pic of it on a bailed knife, but you get the idea I hope.
