Carrying a Fixed Blade while camping in Florida?

I always carry a fixed blade while camping. Usually on my belt not conceled. But when I camp Its usually in the middle of the everglades. Where are you going to be camping? (State park...etc...) I think as long as its not conceled you shouldnt have a problem.

I don't know of any state that considers knives in their CCW permits. Could be somewhere, but not that I know of. One reason is that there are no standardized certification programs, safety programs, or training programs for carrying knives.

You can find the Florida knife laws online, at Bernard Levine's website and elsewhere.

Good Luck,

My state of WV allows open carry without size restriction while in pursuit of outdor activities like hunt, fish, campand hike.there is some reference restricting knives designed specifically to kill or inflict harm .

Florida CWP is a concealed "weapons" permit and covers knives, stun guns, etc. as well as firearms...

True, you can carry any length blade you want as long as it is not concealed. Concealed is fine if you have a permit. I carry a vaquero grande, microtech ultratech and one of my five Glocks. I use the G-20 while in the woods because I have 16 rounds of 10mm on tap. For black bears it is effective if you use Double Tap ammo. (in the .41 mag power range) I like the 165gr DT ammo for ccw and a heavier bullet from DT for bears.
