Does anyone know the legalities of carrying a Tomahawk when hiking in Canada, specifically in BC ?

i would assume its fine if your carrying it as a tool for collecting wood. but then again collecting/cutting wood is not allowed in most parks :)

i dont see any harm in it, i've walked the woods with mine a few times but then again never ran into a ranger.

don't think thee are any laws against it. If you start cutting tres down you may be in trouble. Also, fires are usually not allowed so they may tell you about that

The only trouble you might get is if you tell someone like a C.O that its for defense of two legged predators. You can carry it in the parks while you cannot carry a firearm... Which is one of the big reasons i stay out of the parks. I personally Wouldn't be caught in the woods of B.C/Alberta without a firearm and an axe/machete.

Not illegal to carry a hawk, axe or any fixed blade in Canada.

I hike/walk everywhere with my pack on.Strapped under that pack is my Fort Turner Rogers Rangers hawk.Yesterday I was far from home and the rain starte falling so I dropped into the local liquor store and called for a ride.No one even batted an eye.I bought 2 cases of beer and a small whiskey and a bag of chips while I waited for my ride to come.I love this place.
