Carrying a spyderco tenacious in Canada

I was thinking of edcing a spyderco tenacious in bc. I know that it isn't illegal as long as you are not carrying it as a weapon. But I am still concerned that I will be charged if I get pulled over and an officer is having a bad day.

Is spyderco tenacious too scary looking that an officer might think it is a weapon?

I was thinking of carrying a piece of whittling wood in my backpack even though I don't whittle. Then I can say I use it for whittling and that it is my hobby. Does this sound too fake? Will it arouse more suspicion?

Or should I just buy kershaw skyline which looks less "scary"?

Thanks

It's your call, really...you're not doing anything illegal.

As for me, I regularly carry a Spyderco Military, Benchmade 806, or Emerson CQC10 in an office environment...I'm very discreet about it.

Does the tenacious suit your edc needs?

I rock a black hawk crucible II folder as my edc. I've never had issues with it and for all intensive purposes I picked that cause 1 i thought it was cool 2 I read about what locks were the most secure(had my work knife cheepo break cutting board and the blade shot out and hit me in the face) and heard good things about it.

Pretty sure the tenacious would make a pretty much all around good all duty knife.

Carry with confidence, you will be fine there is no specific law that prevents you from carrying it.

Do not buy a tenacious. For the money or a bit more you can get a much better knife. Try to avoid steels that end in "mov"

If you like the Tenacious, buy it and try it for yourself. It's really the only way you'll know whether or not it will work for you. I really like mine.

There are smaller alternatives if you like the design, namely the Ambitious and the Persistence.

Maybe try a lady bug in purple lol

My GF has one and loves it! nice little knife though.

OP I say go for it and don't worry too much. Just never say 'weapon' or for 'self-defence' and you should be fine I'm sure. I EDC a Dragonfly 2 at work cause I have to 'dress up' a bit. After work though, I go to anything from a mini-griptilian to a Vandermeulen Barely Legal. Course, maybe the cops are more lenient here since I live in "redneck" Alberta! :p

OM Gosh.. Its not the latest and greatest SUPER steel. :(

I have a tenacious in my collection.. And Im happy with it.
The steel is fine.
Its actually seems to dull as easily as some early 90s ATS34
knives I have.

Just easier to resharpen

and for crying out loud.
It has great reviews.

One of the Smootest flipping Spydies too.

I've discovered that I actually like 8Cr13MoV. It suits my daily needs and is extremely easy to sharpen and put a nice mirror finish on the edge. It also has the benefit of all kinds of modding possibilities because it's so economical. I'm far less likely to try and tinker with any of my more expensive folders.

You do not need a specific reason or "cover story" to carry a knife. Just don't use it as a weapon or a threat.
