Carrying an Emerson Commander in NYC

Hi, guys. Does anyone know if it is illegal to carry a full size (3.75 inch) Emerson Commander in NYC? I know that the legal length is supposedly anything under 4 inches, but the heavy, curved blade of the Commander makes it obvious that it was designed as a fighting knife. (I don't think the judge will believe I bought it as a letter opener.) Also, the "wave" feature supposedly allows it to be opened faster than an auto.

As far as I know, under 4.0" and carried concealed is legal. I asked this same question to an NYPD officer and he told me he's never heard of a person having a knife confiscated outside of the commission of a crime.
