carrying in alabama

I called myself reading the knife laws for alabama, but am more confused now than before,,can I carry an a/o?,,can I carry a fixed blade on my belt?,,is there a length limit on either?,,is hard to get a straight answer for a police officer,,some say one thing and another will say something entirely different,,

Your last sentence is very true, I even get different answers from my instructors at the Police Academy. Technically in Texas, we can carry anything but an auto as long as the blade is less than 5 1/2 inches (or you're military or LEO). Now it all depends on your situation and what kind of vibe you give off.

Now I'll have to do a bit of reading up and see what I can interpret for Alabama

Oh, and what part of Alabama are you in? There are usually city ordinances and such which limit blade lengths further than the state limit.
