Im looking for ideas / inspiration.
How do you guys carry larger bailed folders such as scouts and Tl-29 / electricians types , if not loose in pocket or in a slip...ect ?

I picked up a Klein R-3 electrician on Friday and it's just one if those sizes that doesn't agree with any of my pockets, smsll enough that it will turn sideways and big enough to get noticed when I does.
I've had it hanging from my belt loop off of a Nite-ize S-biner, but I'm not sure this is the best option.

^^^ That's a great idea, and I know from personal experience that you can make your own suspension clip that's WAY cooler than the Tec P7!!;) (Thanks for the one you sent me.)

Another option that I often use is to have a lanyard clipped to belt or belt loop with the knife hanging suspended in front or back pocket. I have a Rough Rider electrician hanging that way right now. My lanyard happens to be a piece of plastic-coated spiral wire (like the stuff that used to connect the handset to the base for old landline phones); it's short enough when contracted to suspend knife in pocket, but it expands enough when pulled to allow me to often use the knife without detaching it from the lanyard.

I use homemade suspension clips on a few things, but I tried it on this Klein and it just wasn't ideal for me.
I currently am thinking I may just want a better quality carabinier type thing to use
I'll see what ideas come in and figure out what I wanna do.

TEC suspension clip, with a TEC clip or nite ize s-biner.
I would avoid the Chinese knock offs, there's no spring to the clip and are not as secure.

Scouts and TL-29s are large knives? Just in the pocket for me. One of my large sodbusters has a bail but that one either goes into the back pocket or belt sheath.

I think I came up with a solution, I'll try it and see how it works out.

I attached this little clip to a belt clip I had from something, and it seems to work great.
I can clip it to my belt and have it hang down into my pocket, just far enough and not down at the bottom like the pocket dangler clip was.
I can pull the knife out and unclip it which I like, because for some reason Im wanting this to disconnect to whatever it's attached to when I go to use it.

I use a leather strop around my belt with a steel spring clasp around the bail. Got mine at my local hardware store. I suspect most carry them. Just like the scouts use to use. Basically like above only leather strap around the belt. Posted a bit late.

They're kind of large for me to carry loose in pocket with most of my pants or shorts.
They'll turn sideways and get uncomfortable, smaller knives aren't a bother and larger ones don't really turn sideways.

I carry my @waynorth GEC #98 Texas Camp Knife pretty frequently and it is too big even to hang a dangler on the edge of the pocket, so I have a dangler attached to the bail which I attach to the belt loop closest to my back pocket and let it hang down into the pocket. I honestly think It would be easier and more comfortable to carry without the bail.

I know what you mean. I usually use a belt pouch with my #98.

I carried a Queen cutlery electrician's knife for years at work. I attached a snap hook (dog lease type) to a key ring hooked to the bail and clipped it to a belt loop. There were a couple work keys on the ring also.

IMG_3627.JPG IMG_3628.JPG I carry mine every day at work and after trying several different ways from S-biners to suspension cords I have settled on this. It is a Mini-Mag flashlight pouch that holds the knife with just the right amount of tension and it is the proper depth so that all I have to do is grab the bail to pull it out and it's easy to put back in. Forget I even have it on.

Now that's a simple elegant solution that works perfectly.
If I had one I would probably try it.

Btw I think I have settled on my carry method.
With that belt clip and the knife hanging down into my pocket , it's been working out perfectly and I think that's probably how it will be carried from now on.

Now that is a very inexpensive pocket slip. Good job repurposing!
