After going through a number of makeshift edge covers and no means of comfortable carry I decided to remedy the situation by getting my hands dirty.
I tend to use stuff I have already lying around so I made belt loop from a length of hemp rope. I made two eye splices and a turk's head knot to cover the ends of the working strands.
For the edge cover I whittled down a piece of a broken rubberwood cutting board. The edge cover is held on by a piece of string similar to some SE-Asian machete sheaths I have seen.
I decided to leave a kind of rib on the back to provide added strength.
Hope you like.
