Carrying the Izula

I have several folders and I'm considering buying my first fixed blade knife. I've decided on Izula but I'm unsure how I'd carry it. I'm around a lot of non-knife people and i don't like having a lot of things in my pockets so I'd like to hide it inside my waste band and under my shirt. Is there a clip or sheath I can buy that would allow me to do this?
Thanks!

Hello and Welcome!

There are several options for carrying the wonderful IZULA. These are two methods that I switch in between.

Horizontal Carry on my left side for a cross draw with your right hand.

Vertical carry on the inside of my belt on my right side. This carry sits the most flush to your body if you are wanting it to be better concealed.

All it takes is a bit of paracord and it attaches quite easily to any belt.

This however is coming out soon if you can wait ;)

Hope that gives you a few ideas!

You can wear it IWB with a Spyderco g-clip. It is really not designed for that, but I have made it work before.

i've heard the Blade-tec Tek-Lok is a good method of carrying it on a belt.

I've come to the conclusion that the sheath that comes with it isn't the absolute best option. It would be a lot better, IMO, if the spine-side of the sheath had holes in it instead of the slot. I'm not sure what the slot is for, but I haven't found a good use for it. Not as a slot. I REALLY wish it had a couple of holes instead.

Have you considered neck carry?
Also you can rig it with cord to hang under your shoulder, aka mercharness.

Also you may find pocket carry to not be a problem. I have a several folders that take up more pocket space than my Izula.

I bought an IZULA a couple weeks ago and got the large tek-lok with it and carry it everyday and with a t-shirt over it it is not noticeable the website that I bought it from had the tek-loks for $12 so I just ordered it

I dig the horizontal carry although it just seems that it's a tad too long. I can't wait to get one of these for my packs shoulder strap.

If you want IWB carry contact steelnut on here. He made me a rig for my Busse BAD that I love. Most comfortable carry for a fixed blade I've ever had, my folders are going into a drawer now....

i have the izula and the becker BK11. i tend to carry the BK11 because of the Kabar TDI clip and its sheath. both are great knives, just my personal favorite of the two is the BK11.

now this december when they come out with the BK11/Izula cross im going to get that as my fixed blade edc. its called the BK14 its the becker blade with the izula handle. you'll love it.

hope this helps.

True bushflyr. I can honestly say I only ever used the horizontal carry at work when I didn't care if it was concealed or not. Neck/vertical belt are the ways to go for the izula if you want it concealed ;)

if you do decide on 'necking' it you should head to lowes and get a fan chain. its a little safer than the 550 cord. and fan chain is stronger than dogtag chain. so is can take more abuse.

mine has been on my belt since the day i got it via paracord , in the 4 o'clock position right behind my phone

I'm starting to like horizontal on belt at small of my back, other than that just drop it in my pocket.

I carry one sheathed in the strong hand, front pocket of my jeans. Just added a short, (3" - 4"), lanyard, to help with retrieving from pocket; while using the blade, just stuff the sheath back in the pocket.

Don't know about anybody else, but it works for me ~ K.I.S.S. :D
