I have a question concerning two different models of knives made by Kit Carson. These are the model 16 and the model 18. I ask because I have a large model 16 enroute that should arrive Friday morning!
I really like the overall shape of the knife with its fighter style blade (spearpoint?). I have been looking at both the 18 and the 16 at several places to try and tell the difference. I know there is a difference or else there wouldn't be two diferent models.
The pictures I've seen show both models with titanium bolsters and green/black G-10 handles. Both also have a spearpoint style blade. The only difference I could really tell from the pics I was staring at was in the shape of the handle at the butt end. The model 18 seemed to be rounder while the model 16 has a distinct flattened appearance on the bottom side.
The question I'm asking is not really an important one but one in which I am trying to gather a bit of info. The most important thing here is a model 16 is headed my way!!! This one has the 4" blade of S30V and the g/b G-10 handle slabs along with the titanium bolsters.
Been a while since I've had a Carson and in all the intervening time I have yet to hear one negative thing about these outstanding knives!
Any response is appreciated.
