I'm wondering if anyone else would be interested in a blade like this, made by Master Bladesmith Murray Carter. He makes one helluva blade, and I'd love to see a slim, scale-less version and I'm wondering if anyone else out there agrees.
I'm talking to you GUYON, JAXX, SOMBER AND ANYONE ELSE WHO LOVES MURRAY CARTER'S!

Just picture any of the knives below with no scales and hammer finish on the handle. I emailed him about it, and he said it's possible, but I don't know if he's 100% sold on the idea yet. I bet if we harass him about it he might put one up on his site. What do you think?

Thanks. I'm not going to sleep tonight, dreaming about those knives.
I like skeletonized neckers myself, I've got a few, not as good as his.

I didn't see this thread here, so I replied in the necker thread, but I would buy one especially if it meant a small discount on the overall knife. I think Mr. Carter puts a lot into the handles and is very proud of how ergonomically designed they are, so I'm not so sure he would be as apt to take that aspect away, but if it meant getting the quality craftsmanship in a lighter package I would love it. I've dropped my neckers on the ground and while I'm fine with the metal showing scratches the micarta is a little bit more of a problem for me to fix. I also have a buffalo horn handle - if there were no handle I think the knife would be more of a user since there would be no worry of damage to something such as buffalo horn. I think it would bring a new aspect of his business, more USER knives (although all his knives are definitely that, you honestly can't help not wanting the handles to get scratched up and baby it a little, these things are too good not to).

He might have to tweak the handle size a bit to compensate for the lack of handle slabs and I can understand his concern as my fishing necker is extremely comfortable in the hand... But because it has such sweet black walnut handles, it'll never see fish guts, LOL...
But the short answer to your question is...

Oh, YOUBETCHA!!! :D:thumbup:

I'd take one in his damascus too!!! :)
