If you are talking about Murray Carter, he started out in Japan but moved to the US some years ago. Very high quality handmade knives. Can't believe everyone hasn't heard of him by now. I believe he has his ABS mastersmith stamp.

He is well established in the kitchen knife industry. Do a search on YouTube and you'll get a lot of videos. He's been around for a while.

I was at the Blade Show with him when he was awarded the M.S. All the knives I own of his are from his Japan days.

I’m fortunate that I live very close to Murray Carter almost to close ) lol
He’s a great guy and a craftsman like no other. I went to one of his open houses and watched him forge a knife through the whole process it was an experience I’ll never forget . I owned one of his neck knives and broke the tip when I dropped tip down and it went threw the carpet into concrete. I brought it by his shop and they sharpened it and fixed the tip for no charge. I went to pick it up and was told Murray said there will be no charge. Can’t recommend him enough and he also has highly skilled apprentice trained by him that you can buy one of there knives at a fraction of the price .

Murray's knives are hand forged in Oregon, not China! They are awesome, amazing hand crafted quality. I'm definitely a fan. They are literally the sharpest knives I've ever owned, and I've owned over a hundred knives!
