Carter Neck Knife....Would you baton with one?

I am looking to replace my bravo necker neck knife and when going through the suggestions on another post of mine I fell in love with the Carter knives and really like the original profile (since I clean a lot of game) but I am curious if you all think it would be up to the task of batoning. If I am out in the woods I usually have one of my larger bushcrafter blades at hand (usually my fiddleback forge) but not always and sometimes I will put my neck knife through its paces that are better suited for a little larger tool. I absolutely love neck knives and wear it everywhere that is legal and I really enjoy the fact that Murray Carter loves them as well making them a focus piece of his collections. I am not at all afraid to use my knives regardless of their price but do you think it is up to the task of some heavier chores like some of the other neckers out there?

I have one, I would baton with it... Nothing too hard core, but enough to get some kindling.

Also, hardhart, there is no zero grind, there is a very distinctive primary edge (secondary bevel) on all his knives that I have handled.

I very much recommend one of Murray's neck knives.

:cool::thumbup:

As long as you're using proper form and technique you should have no problems. I baton with mine all the time.

Murray's knives are not zero ground (flat from the shinogi to the cutting edge).

white steel with a zero grind? nah
Murray has a video on YouTube where he batons with one of his neck knives.
No problem, he also reroofed his house with it and it still was a cut above the rest.
His knives are not a joke.

Yeah, I have spoke with Murray over the past couple of days and what a guy...he has been super informative, patient, and kind. I ordered a Wharncliffe Brute from him today and am looking forward to some good use with it.
