I picked this one up a while back. I kinda like the barlows and thought this one looked cool. The backspring is hidden inside. Very sharp blade and tight action.
Very strong closing snap, and the opening pull is strong but definately not a nailbreaker. The thing that really surprised me about this one is how light it is. It feels about 1/2 the weight of my similar sized barlows.

Thanks for looking.........

I have no idea who Carter may be, but I know an old Queen barlow when I see it. That hidden back spring is kind of a trade mark of some of their old school line. Down on the eastern shore of Maryland, the Queen Big Chief is popular among watermen, and it has that same back spring design.

Maybe a contract knife by some company named Carter?

Carl.

Is it a leaf spring or a coil spring on that little plunger? I've never handled one of these before.
