What shape files do you guys use to carve the edges of liners to make them look like jewelry?? I've seen it alot and tried different file shapes and just can't get it right.

Always think of your fellow knife makers as partners in the search for the perfect blade, not as people trying to compete with you and your work!

Michael,
Do you mean how do we get the vine patterns and others on the liners. To do the vine I use a round, a half round and a triangle, all needle files of course. Start with the triangle, then use a round, and a triangle and a half round. Continue this for as far down the knife you would like, then when you go down the otherside you stagger it starting with either a round or half round, then the triangle. this will give it a contrasting pattern. the easiest way is to just pratice.
This is a pic of some that I did.
