CAS hanwei viking spear

I just purchased the short bladed version of their Viking spear only to find that it is cast instead of
forged. Does anyone want to go out on a limb and tell me to sharpen this and go poke a tusker? As it is I plan to return the SLO and talk to a local smith.
BTW, is this the best place on the forum to ask this?

I own all three viking spears they make. I'd not use them for anything but decorations. As you've noticed they're not very solidly made.
